Cllr Dave Patrick with the petition to keep the taxi rank at the Horsefair
At his first Full Council meeting as a member of Fenland District Council, newly-elected councillor Dave Patrick has presented a petition of nearly 1,500 signatures calling on the council to keep the taxi rank at Wisbech's Horsefair. Cllr Patrick said:
"This was the key issue in a recent by-election which the electorate returned by an overwhelming majority a district councillor who campaigned strongly on the issue of the taxis and retaining them on the Horsefair. I trust therefore that every consideration will be given to this petition before a final decision is made. I hope that full consideration will be given not only to those people who have signed this petition but to all other people who have expressed their opinion by other means.Yet again the people of Wisbech have spoken strongly on this issue, and they need to be listened to."
